Mr. Stortini is primarily responsible for the strategic vision of Apennine Development Co., LLC, including setting Apennine’s investment strategy, deal sourcing, and capital raising. Prior to co-founding Apennine, Mr. Stortini maintained over forty years of experience in virtually every aspect of real estate and construction. Previous to forming Apennine with Messrs. Scali and Calabro, Mr. Stortini was the president of a major, regional, fully integrated real estate company. Due to Mr. Stortini’s leadership, the homebuilding company grew from a $20MM enterprise to $100MM and from twenty employees to one hundred employees during his tenure. Over the course of his career Mr. Stortini has developed and constructed over 4,500 single-family homes, 3,600 multi-family units, several suburban office parks, and over 2,000,000 sq. ft. of commercial and retail properties in Delaware and the surrounding states.

Mr. Scali is Apennine Development Co., LLC’s general counsel and is primarily responsible for handling the review and negotiation of purchase agreements, leases, and finance documents. In addition, Mr. Scali oversees the operations of Apennine’s affiliate general contractor - MFCS, LLC. Prior to co-founding Apennine with Messrs. Stortini and Calabro, Mr. Scali was a Director at the Wilmington law firm Bayard, P.A., and subsequently a founding member of Gellert Scali Busenkell & Brown, LLC, a successful commercial boutique law firm that has continued past Mr. Scali’s retirement therefrom. In his twenty years of private law practice, Mr. Scali concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial lending, real estate, commercial transactions, and entity law. Mr. Scali is AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated by Martindale Hubbell, earning the highest rating available for legal ability and ethics by both attorney peers and clients. Mr. Scali earned his B.A. from Villanova University and earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. Calabro brings broad-based finance and asset management experience to Apennine Development Co., LLC. Mr. Calabro is primarily responsible for investment underwriting, entitlements, investor relations, and asset management of Apennine’s various investments. Prior to co-founding Apennine Development Co., LLC with Messrs. Stortini and Scali, Mr. Calabro spent three years at Chatham Bay Group where he was principally focused on managing their $75MM single family rental business, a joint venture with Fir Tree Partners, a New York based investment firm. Prior to his time at Chatham Bay, Mr. Calabro spent eight years at J.P. Morgan where he most recently served as a Vice President of the Private Bank’s Portfolio Management Group based in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. Calabro also held a variety of CFO roles, supporting several of J.P. Morgan’s businesses throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Calabro earned a B.S. degree in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University and is a CFA® charterholder.​

Mr. Allen is primarily responsible for construction oversight of all of Apennine Development Co., LLC’s projects. Mr. Allen brings over twenty years of construction experience to Apennine. Prior to joining Apennine, Mr. Allen was the Director of Real Estate & Construction Operations for Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County, Delaware. Prior to leading Habitat for Humanity, Mr. Allen worked for several leading custom and production home builders in Pennsylvania and Delaware, building over 800 units throughout his career. In 2013, Mr. Allen earned his Project Management Professional certificate. In 2017, Mr. Allen was recognized by the Delaware Business Times as one of Delaware’s “40 Under 40” outstanding young professionals. Notably, Mr. Allen is recognized as a national thought-leader in construction processes, having been the subject of a case study regarding a novel construction solution to firewall assembly in multi-family construction, which method is now used throughout the nation.

Mr. Wheatley’s responsibilities include the identification, negotiation, and development of business opportunities throughout the State of Delaware with emphasis on projects within municipalities and other special projects requiring his level of expertise. Mr. Wheatley brings forty years of concurrent experience in commercial construction, commercial real estate, land use and government consulting, and capital reserve analysis. For twenty years, he owned and operated a well-known local commercial construction business in Delaware. Mr. Wheatley currently maintains a land-use and capital reserve consulting business, performs real estate brokerage services, and serves as an outside director of two financial institutions with operations in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey. Mr. Wheatley is a licensed real estate broker and the only CAI-designated Reserve Specialist located in Delaware.

In addition to his past construction company experience, as president of JA Moore & Sons, Inc., Mr. Moore has developed and constructed thousands of single-family homes, multi-family communities, commercial buildings, and institutional facilities throughout Delaware and the surrounding states. Mr. Moore is actively involved in many industry related companies and organizations, previously holding board and chair positions at companies and organizations such as Fulton Bank, National Association of Home Builders and the Associated Builders and Contractors of Delaware.

After graduating from George Mason University in 2003, Mr. Moore returned to Delaware where he is now the president of JA Moore & Sons, Inc., a construction company that has been a stalwart in the construction business for over sixty years. Mr. Moore is also the owner of MBM Construction, LLC, an affiliate of JA Moore & Sons, Inc., whereby Mr. Moore has compiled a vast portfolio of single-family homes, multifamily apartments, condominiums, and commercial building construction projects.

Ms. Smith is primarily responsible for the property management of Apennine Development Co., LLC’s stabilized projects. Ms. Smith also assists Apennine’s principals with market analysis at the onset of project development. Ms. Smith possesses over thirty years of experience in the real estate industry and is the owner of Your Place Property Management, a third-party, independent property management company. During her career, Ms. Smith has managed a portfolio of over 5,000 units valued at over $250MM. Ms. Smith’s marketplace knowledge spans the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast real estate markets. Ms. Smith has extensive experience in the multi-family sector, repositions of distressed assets, real estate acquisitions, new construction lease ups, floor plan and interior design, and development of comprehensive marketing programs. Ms. Smith stresses the necessity of utilizing the latest in technology and systems along with highly trained personnel to provide proactive strategy in an ever-changing real estate market. Ms. Smith has served as Vice President of the Delaware Apartment Association, she is an active member of the National Apartment Association, has been appointed to the Delaware Rental Advisory Committee, and holds a real estate license.

As the operations director of Your Place Property Management, Mr. Farrall lends a decade of experience in staff and facility management. Through persistent research, design, and implementation of the most current, industry standard policies and programs, Mr. Farrall consistently achieves optimal results through determination and dedication to portfolio growth and management.
